I love winter time for all that it brings - snow, coziness, twisty naked branches, brisk air. But one thing I wish winter had more of was sunshine. Although it might not brighten the temperature outside, it atleast brightens my mood. So last week when some rays decided to burst through Evelyn's room window I grabbed my camera to hopefully capture the warmth.
I heard this quote a while back:
"You can't have a light without a dark to stick it in."
It pretty much echoes what my grandma said to me on the phone the other day - that you have to have the downs in life so that you can know and better appreciate when you are on the up and up. I am grateful for those in my life who are my sunshine when skies are gray.
<3 Touching.
ReplyDeleteOH I LOVE this post and you have such a great point! I love to live my life that way too - you can't change the weather, but you can change your own outlook! Such an adorable room too ;-)
ReplyDeletetoo cute! btw...I love that your "comments" are actually "holla'backs" :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to sing the "you are my sunshine" song to me all the time when I was younger. I still hum it to this day. I love Evelyn's nursery, by the way!
ReplyDeleteThis is so what I needed to hear today. You have no idea.
ReplyDeleteAnd that dolly girl of yours is so, so beautiful. Such a sweetie.
Oh, I love sunshine!! :) Where I live the sun shines most days out of the year, a lot of times even when it's bitterly cold out. I could never live in a place where it was grey all the time.
ReplyDeletePs. Your little girl's room is so beautiful!
Her room is beyond adorable!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that quote! I'm going to add it to the quotes on my fridge. Your daughter is adorable and her room is beautiful!

oh i soak up every once of sunshine I get...summer or winter :) I grew up in Vancouver, WA and didn't realize just how cloudy/overcast it is there the majority of the time. But because of that, I appreciate the Utah sun even more! just like you said...dark days in life make the bright days brighter :)
ReplyDeleteand her room...i LOVE it! I never truly finished Brooks' nursery, and now I'm going to create a big boys room for him (bitter sweet) with his brother or sister's nursery next to him. Your sweet girl's room is lovely, warm, and simple...reminds me to keep my boy's room (and the baby's room!) simple and fresh :)
i am dying over her hair bow. cutest thing of my life.
