To be honest, I was kinda scared to shop for boy stuff. Finding dainty girlie stuff is fairly easy, but boys? It's almost impossible to scan the racks of Target and find any article of clothing that isn't imprinted with Disney, giraffes or jersey numbers. Here's where H&M kids comes in, as well as Zara, sometimes Old Navy, and oddly enough JCPenney? {That's a question mark because I'm still confused by it to, but I found some great stuff there for less than $5}.
It's also hard to be "crafty" with the male gender, but I think I see sewing bowties and constructing a homemade mobile in the near future. I'm kinda getting excited :) Mostly I'm looking forward to Evelyn having a playmate. I think that will be fun.

Speaking from experience, you'll have a great time dressing your little boy.
ReplyDeleteSo fun!
I totally know what you mean. I just had a little boy and it is so hard to find cute clothes that are not covered in all of those things. I found that thrifting and sewing are helpful. I just ended up making a little pair of pants and a mobile as well!

I totally agree. Even as newborns, it's easier to shop for girls than guys :) But you've put together an awesome picture of boys clothing!
ReplyDeleteThe things you've found here are really cute! I love that little elephant!
ReplyDeleteOh, you are so right on about H&M! Now that I saw those sailboats, I'm rethinking my decorating scheme for the nursery! :) Darling!
ReplyDeleteI loove JCPennys for clothes... cheap ones that still look cute. I also raid Osh Kosh and other name brand kid stores (usually in the outlet mall) twice a year to catch the sales on last season's clothes for next year!
Boys are hard to shop for, period!
ReplyDeleteI make bowties for my little guy and buy him cute little newsie hats. Boys in hats are adorable.

oh my, your little cutie is going to be the most stylin' little man out there!! that sweater and those bow ties are to die for!
ReplyDeleteYes, you will find plenty. Don't forget to thrift some vintage finds too, they are easier and easier to come by. I like Target for their Osh Kosh brand otherwise it's a lot of what you were saying in your post. I love the mobile too, precious. There are so many cute things these days. Take care,

Too much cuteness to handle! Here are some of my favorite wooden toys! http://www.etsy.com/shop/WoodenGiraffeToys?ref=seller_info
ReplyDeleteIf you start sewing bow ties I will buy some from you :-) I've gotten a few off of etsy for Judah. Also I think I told you this before, but it was so hard to shop for Judah (he will be 18th months on June 10th) I can totally give you some of his clothing from when he was younger. But I was able to thrift allot of his stuff over at Unique off of gallows road. They have a GREAT boys selection and the stuff is really really really cheap. Target was great for the pants/jeans/shorts when he was under one, old navy had great hats and the occasional top but I just found allot of my stuff through thrifting. I'll have to check out JCPenny, I never knew they would have a great boy selection. Oh baby gap is great :-) I LOVE their boy stuff :-) I think Judahs bedroom smelled like baby gap because I loved their stuff so much
ReplyDeleteyou had me at bow ties :) your little man is going to be just precious. H&M has been ridic lately in the little man's section. suspenders and all! happy shopping, mama.

ReplyDeleteI dont have kids as you know but I have to say it is so much easier to shop for a lil girl vs. a boy. They just have loads and loads of cute clothes and accessories.
ReplyDeleteIm with you the non disney stuff to, so so over it!!!
Way cute finds....love them. Thanks for sharing! :-)
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, you've found the cutest little boy stuff ever!! it's definitely easy to fall in love with little girl items, but these are seriously presh :)
ReplyDeleteAnd dont forget BABYGAP!! they have the cutest boy stuff ever. I also dont like how everything for boys is future slugger, future quarterback. But babygap has just simple things. or funny. Either way I love love love there selections.
ReplyDeleteOh man! I loved this post! Im preggers with my first (it's a boy!) and hate that everything has disney or bob the builder or some ugly looking monkey on it! not gonna lie, shopping for boys was hard for me! The girly clothes are so darling and just made me melt. i finally had to put blinders on to avoid the little girl sections of stores and head only to the dinky boys sections (why oh why are boy sections so much smaller??)
