1. Bedtime for Evelyn is a bittersweet time for me. When 7pm rolls around, I am exhausted and ready for some alone time. It always seems that the minutes between 6:50-7:00 creep by, but a weird thing happens when the clock strikes on the hour. For when I go scoop Ev up, cradle her in my arms, lay her down in her dark crib, and tuck her in with her blankie I hardly want to let go. She always gleams with this smile that melts my heart and I end up playing with her for a couple seconds more. I almost can't bare the thought that I won't see her for the next 12 hours until morning comes. She is my everything.

2. The other day I was walking by the maintenance room in our complex and I thought from the corner of my eye I saw a severed arm laying on the custodial cart, so I did a double take. Then I really did LOL. Did I REALLY expect to see a dangling lifeless arm when I glanced back? Do your eyes ever play tricks on you like that? No. Ok, I just have weird eyes that flash horror scenes.

3. I love blogging because I can make up any words I want and upset all the proper rules of grammar. I remember my 2nd grade teacher telling me that you can't start a sentence with the word because. Well guess what, I do that all the time. You might also notice that I misspell alot of words or use the improper form more often than not.  Like on a post a wee ways back I said "quarks" instead of "quirks." Just a minor typo that has now been changed. All of these mistakes make me look uneducated, but in reality I have such a high respect for proper English and my college papers prove my love for excellent prose, but this is my blog and it's fun to do word remixes every now and then :)

4. When I was little a whole box of mac and cheese used to feed me and two siblings. Now it just feeds me. Is that saying something about the box getting smaller or my greedy mac and cheese self getting bigger?

That's all.

Oh, and thank you all for your input on the shoes. #2 is a definite yes and still deciding between 1 and 4 :)

  1. I often think the same thing about mac and cheese! I can take down a box of sponge bobs like no ones business..

  5. I look forward to when it's Matthew's bedtime too (so I can get things done), but then I do miss him terribly and when I'm done with the household chores, I sneak into his room and scoop him out of his crib and just hold him for a few minutes. I just love having him snuggle up on my shoulder.

  6. This makes me laugh. I too am greedy with Mac and Cheese! Family size box is a must. And you are so right about the grammar. I have 3 English teachers in my family and have the highest respect for proper usage but blogging is fun. And sometimes I want to break rules and I don't know end a sentence with a proposition. Whatever. haha. That's why it's your space!

  9. I love how you write! I don't ever use proper english on my blog and I use a lot of ....'s. To me it's more fun to read things that sound like the person talking instead of writing :)

  10. I'm right there with you on the writing/grammar/spelling front! I'm usually pretty anal about being proper (it's the Creative Writing major in me), but on my blog I write how I talk. This is not getting graded! haha

And as for the mac & cheese.... Yeah, I choose to believe the box is smaller because I'll power through the whole thing happily in one sitting nowadays :)

  11. I always laugh at my self when I use incorrect grammar, ( I do it all the time!) and incorrect punctuation of spelling. I hardly ever capitalize words when writing on facebook, or text, and that's just the way the world is now, I supposed. The hubs and I have also made up a lot of our own words, they aren't really our own words but abbreviations of other words that we use a lot.

The reason I laugh is because I teach English as a second language, so you'd think I'd want to be using correct speech all the time.... Hopefully I use it when I'm with my students at least :)

  15. Just thought you'd casually see a severed arm lying around did you? Haha this has totally happened to me too before, don't worry you're not the only one! I know what you mean about the spelling thing, I graduate as a teacher this year and whenever I make mistakes I'm always thinking "ooh I hope no one saw that, it makes me look like a 'bad' teacher" but yeh, this is your blog so who cares! :)

  18. I found that if I make Mac N Cheese from scratch that there is tons and tons left over. But I could totally eat a box of Velvetta Shells & Cheese by myself.

  19. We seriously need to hang out.

    1. Last night I asked Mark how many more years I would be able to hold Behr in my arms all curled up! He said 2-3, I asked for 7.

    2. All the stinking time. I must watch too much Criminal Minds.

    3. I have a slight processing disorder that tricks my mind into thinking things look right, even if they are not. This makes me LOVE that blogging can be writing with out perfect editting.

    4. Yes. And I get a bit grumpy when I have to share with anyone other than Behr. I don't mind Behr, but only because he doesn't eat much of it yet. The slippery noodles escape him, so it takes a while for him to eat a bit.

  20. Number 2 is hilarious! But I can soo relate. When my husband goes out of town I'm particularly on edge so maybe that explains it but once I was mopping our kitchen floor so I moved our tall coat rack out onto our porch. While mopping the hair on the back of my neck stood up when I realized someone was watching me through the porch door window. I FREAKED out only to realize it wasn't some serial killer, just the coat rack LOL! Also, I'm so glad I found your blog, its design is so fun and inviting and I LOVE your daughters name :) You have a beautiful family. Thanks for stopping by my blog
